#humblebrag time The Nail Artelier is the best salon to work for if you’re a nailist who really LOVES nail art and are always up for a challenge. It would be pretty accurate to say that 95% of our customers get nail art done. Where else can you see that kind of statistic? If you … Continue reading »
These are Jerlynn’s subtle Christmas nails – white gradient tips with glitter, paired with hand-drawn flowers and tiny gold studs on silver tips. I guess these are more like winter nails than Christmas nails… such a lovely white/silver wintry colour!
I did this simple black gradient with silver glitter and added white random snowflakes to it… and I’m loving how quick and lovely it is! I might just do it for myself… Done with normal nail polish from OPI!
So, the Pink Room Cup was a tense and long event for us, but there was actually also a teeny lull between the last of our individual floor competitions and the team competition. We had finished our gel extensions and were sitting through a nail art demonstration by our Principal Rachel and one of the … Continue reading »
I’ve been doing quite a few sets of Christmas nails recently – people really start earlier and earlier each year! This design was straight out of Dec Nail Max – white gradient tips with glitter and handdrawn snowflakes in different colours! I like to make my snowflakes a little different…
ONE DAY I must get something like this done on my own nails. I love the attitude oozing from this set! The black and gold colour scheme, the glam studs, the rocker vibe coming from those skulls… There’s even a tiny little ghoul (I don’t know what to call it – it’s a furry teardrop-shaped … Continue reading »
This design was originally from one of the Japanese nail art magazines. My customer is a real fan of the magazines and has her favourite designs saved on her iPad. So, she always shows me the look she likes and I modify it to suit her nails and her preferences. This one is a glittery … Continue reading »
Awhile back, a customer asked for the seashell set that Jenrine did for Yina, but had it done in a different colour scheme. She didn’t want it too colourful, so we stuck to a purple, pink and white combination, and used a mix of silver and gold embellishments. So soft and pretty!
A while ago, Jaron and the other awesome stylists at 99 Percent Hair Studio went for a workshop where they upgraded their skills by learning new Japanese techniques for texturising perms. In order to have some pictures for a planned upcoming promotion, they were looking for hair models of different hair lengths. So, Jaron asked … Continue reading »
It seems the seashell craze is here to stay! Over at The Nail Artelier, we’ve been doing tons of designs with seashells ever since they made their first appearance in summer, and I was pleasantly surprised that this client asked to pair the seashells with funky neons. The striped design with funky neon stones was … Continue reading »
Table Manners is one of my favourite restaurants for lunch when I feel like indulging in good food without spending too much. I first stumbled upon them last year when Mr M and I were shopping at Changi City Point and hunting for a restaurant to try. We looked at the shop directory and the … Continue reading »
This was my last practice before I flew off to the USA! I just wanted to work on tweaking my design to be more time-efficient, so I decided to try some watercolour-effect florals this time. Again, I spread out the nails with art instead of keeping them all on one side (for the reasons explained … Continue reading »
During Restaurant Week awhile back, we had a mini staff outing at Parsley & Thyme. We’d been so busy at The Nail Artelier that we hadn’t had a chance to have a proper staff outing, so this meal was a teeny consolation. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let down. First up, lobster … Continue reading »
When it comes to spending, there are two extremes: A. Penny-pinchers who deprive themselves of all of life’s little luxuries and save as much as they can. They’ll have enough saved up for retirement, but before they retire, I imagine that it would be a good 50 years of misery living in a constant state … Continue reading »
I thought this set was pretty subtle (if you ignore the huge bling) and unique at the same time! The base is actually fine marbling with white, nude, and glitter flakies… And on the accent nail, there are huge crystals with freehand art that looks sort of chandelier-ish, or baroque-ish. Love it!
Mr M and I decided to check out Maison Ikokku since it was really near The Nail Artelier and I had read rave reviews about it. I had a red velvet brownie… YUMMY! I also ordered a pot of tea but decided to try something new (vanilla) instead of my usual Earl Grey. This was … Continue reading »
So… I’ve pretty much settled on my design for the gel manicure category. However, instead of doing one side french and four fingers of art on the other side, I alternated the french with the nail art. As I was practising on my actual competition model, I only had three options: A: Do the competition … Continue reading »
My first practice for the gel mani category was done on Jerlynn, who kindly agreed to be my practice model. Thanks to her, I got to try out the nail art design that I wanted to do, and see whether I could get it done in time. This was when I found out that no, … Continue reading »
**I don’t know why my first two pictures uploaded like this! They’re were fine when viewed from my computer, but now you have to tilt your head to the side to see them properly. Sorry! Mr M and I made a dinner reservation at Little Diner during Restaurant Week after seeing the many rave reviews … Continue reading »
