Sometime in January, a customer of mine showed me a picture of a nail design with a knitted effect – basically cable knit sweater patterns done in an embossed style on the nail so it really pops. She later decided to save it for her next design, so I…

I know Christmas is over already but I couldn’t help sharing this set I did – it was one of the last few Christmas sets of the year, and by then they were all beginning to look the same to me… but this one was really unique! My customer showed me a reference pic to … Continue reading

This is an update of my texturising perm done in early November at 99 Percent Hair Studio! Here’s what it looks like when it’s properly blown and styled: Thanks to Shan, who’s very meticulous when it comes to wash and blow! LOVE! Right now, I think I’ll try and grow out my hair because… I … Continue reading
MERRY CHRISTMAS! I’m totally loving Christmas… hope you’re having a good day too! This set was done eons ago, but I thought it was pretty festive (tons of glitz and gold) and totally appropriate for Christmas… Every single nail is decked out in pearls, crystals, gold embellishments…
I usually fare a lot better doing “neat” designs than doing abstract ones that require true artistic flair… but I’m working on getting better at the latter! This marbling request was a good example of how I got forced to step out of my comfort zone. When my customer picked out this design from one … Continue reading
Remember the bride who had Stitch drawn on her thumb nails? Well, today’s set was done on her friend, who also had whimsical requests! She asked for the pony from her handphone case to be drawn on her thumb nails!
This is simplicity with a little hint of extravagance. Clean white half moons lined with silver glitter. Just two accent nails with a cascade of subtle silver shimmer – one embellished with a cluster of super sparkly crystals, and the other embellished with an embossed heart, with an embedded crystal. Love!
Nowadays, when I get appointment bookings for bridal nails, I no longer know what to expect. In the past, it was all pretty standard – lace, or tons of crystals, french tips, embossed flowers or ribbons… Now, brides are a lot more adventurous and some even have themed weddings! Check out this set of “Stitch” … Continue reading
This is a super cute Christmas set – the four characters are based on reference pictures (clipart/cartoon) that the customer showed me, and we paired them with random snowflakes and glitter… all on a dark blue base.
I had a really interesting customisation request the other day – for Van Gogh’s Starry Night to be painted on my customer’s big toes’ nails, and for the rest of the nails to match. She must love this art piece by Van Gogh a lot, because her laptop had a custom wrap with the art … Continue reading
Sharing this sweet post by Gent, Jenrine’s lovely photographer friend and senior from school. We owe him deeply for his help in shooting not only our opening weekend at The Nail Artelier, but also our competition entries for the photo submissions. Once in a while you see your passion and a hobby get somewhere, and … Continue reading
These are Jerlynn’s subtle Christmas nails – white gradient tips with glitter, paired with hand-drawn flowers and tiny gold studs on silver tips. I guess these are more like winter nails than Christmas nails… such a lovely white/silver wintry colour!
I did this simple black gradient with silver glitter and added white random snowflakes to it… and I’m loving how quick and lovely it is! I might just do it for myself… Done with normal nail polish from OPI!
So, the Pink Room Cup was a tense and long event for us, but there was actually also a teeny lull between the last of our individual floor competitions and the team competition. We had finished our gel extensions and were sitting through a nail art demonstration by our Principal Rachel and one of the … Continue reading
I’ve been doing quite a few sets of Christmas nails recently – people really start earlier and earlier each year! This design was straight out of Dec Nail Max – white gradient tips with glitter and handdrawn snowflakes in different colours! I like to make my snowflakes a little different…
ONE DAY I must get something like this done on my own nails. I love the attitude oozing from this set! The black and gold colour scheme, the glam studs, the rocker vibe coming from those skulls… There’s even a tiny little ghoul (I don’t know what to call it – it’s a furry teardrop-shaped … Continue reading
